SITE : FORMER YMCA NURSERY, MUJIB ROAD, JASHORE
Project‘ NIBRITIKHONDO’ portrays ‘ A TRANQUIL PATCH’ by designing an quite corner in the city into a healing retreat where children play, books wait under open skies, and neighbors pause for a cup of tea., making an forgotten space into a place to feel human again. The site was once a trusted nursery school, so it holds emotional value as a place of care and early learning.It is Located on a major street, surrounded by mixed-use (residential + commercial) zones with strong foot traffic.This project creates a healing interface — blending an open library, cafe, and play zone into a shared social sanctuary. Here, children’s laughter, shared tea, and quiet books offer small moments of care.
Open Library :A library by nature is quiet and reflective. In a public but peaceful patch, people can read under trees, on benches, or floor mats —a sanctuary for the mind. The library brings intellectual healing .
Cafe- Not a loud, commercial cafE— but a warm, cozy one where conversations are gentle, people watch the world go by, and neighbors reconnect. The cafe nurtures emotional and social healing Children's Play Zone : Even in play, there's a sense of freedom, innocence, and therapy. The sound of children laughing in a safe, nurturing environment adds life, not chaos. The play zone provides joy and vitality within the boundaries of quiet corner.Nibritikhondo heals not through walls, but through quiet care, shared moments, and the comfortof belonging.
