Project Description
In Bangladesh 2.0, where public transport is being brought under unified regulation, a busy yet underutilized bus stop is transformed into an inclusive healing space, offering shade and serenity for pedestrians, commuters, vendors, and street animals, providing relief from the city’s chaos and heat.
The key design ideas are:
A shade- a shade made by using our century old building technique of mud house. Which will keep the space cool in summer and warm in winter.
Solar panel- It will be the main electricity provider for the bus stop’s elements which are: water circulation, lights, electric schedule board and charging ports.
Beehive coolant- It is inspired by evaporative cooling technique that will keep the environment cool. The mist and sound of water will create a calm and soothing environment serving as one of the major elements in healing space.
Shelter for street animals- Made of same mud construction technique will prove a safe shelter for street animals.
Fountain- The fountain adds an element to the healing space providing an eye soothing environment. The fountain’s soothing sound will also guide visually impaired to navigate the space easily. At the end of the fountain there is a small divot where street animals can drink water too.
Drinking Fountain- One of the major issues in Dhaka is availability of free fresh drinking water which will be solved through this.
This is a model that can later be set all over the country.
