Project Description
"TRIVORA : A HEALING JUNCTION"
'TRI'= THREE, 'VORA'= FLOW/LIFE
LOCATION :JUNCTION OF NILKHET ROAD AND SHAMSUN NAHAR HALL ROAD
OPPOSITE TO RAJU MEMORIAL STATUE
CONCEPT : At the lively yet chaotic junction near TSC, Dhaka, a triangular plot becomes a place of restoration — a space that remembers the struggles of the past, nurtures the present, and inspires strength for the future. Its very shape defines the design language, with the triangle symbolizing unity, resilience, and connection.
SHAPE GENERATION : The form draws from the site’s protest legacy, echoing the raised fist — a universal emblem of courage — and from the image of a handshake, representing trust and solidarity. Rising vertically, the elongated triangle stands tall as a reminder to face injustice, illness, and hardship without bowing one’s head.
HEALING PROCESS : Visitors enter through the Walkway of History, a gentle ramp encircling the site. Stories and memories from TSC’s cultural and protest heritage line the path, shifting the mood from heaviness to hope. The journey continues through spaces designed for varied needs — quiet corners for reflection, open seating for conversation, and playful areas to release stress and spark joy. Flowing water at the center offers a calming rhythm, while the Healing Garden surrounds visitors with nature’s textures, scents, and colors.
FEATURES : Space welcomes reality as well — a separate smoking zone ensures habits do not disrupt the healing of others and also for discouraging the smoking habit the zone and path is also narrow. Existing sculptures and the food court are preserved as anchors of memory and community life. There is also a Callisthenic Park, which helps people to decrease their stresses.
Here, movement leads to reflection, reflection to renewal. This is not just a park, but a living testament to protest, unity, and resilience — a place where people can walk, connect, laugh, and most importantly, heal."
