Project Description
The canal; a living entity which breathed life into our small village locality, in Monohoriya, Bhawal. It’s banks were alive with children’s laughter constant stream of sharing and connection, thus bringing vitality in the village. The ripple of water mirrored our shared rhythm, the reminder of the life that flowed in harmony.
But later the introduction of highways, roads, bridges, transformed the once bustling hub of vitality into a backdoor of the community. Accumulation of trash, irresponsible disposal of waste and constant neglect ultimately tore the thread which connected the community together.
This project aims to bring back the soul of the community through careful restoration of the canal; not just as a restored waterway rather as a beating heart of the whole community. The canal, in its current state of disrepair is a shadow of its former role. Neglected, polluted and disconnected from daily community life. Restoring the canal will revive the cultural and environmental value, spark local pride, attract visitors and create a healthier and more connected community.
Bringing people and activities to the river bank, breathing back life into the canal. Transforming the space into the communal lifeblood it once was. This Project , the scope of its restoration will provide tangible outcome for the people living here, Restore the sense of community and perhaps return the sense of connection for the its people.
