Project Description
Where the city lets go, and you float. Pause Point - A Zero-Gravity Healing Space
Context & Problem:Under flyover spaces in Bangladesh often remain unused, dusty, noisy and unsafe. These areas are potential community assets but are neglected due to poor design and lack of purpose.
Site Selection Rationale: Chosen for its strategic location within a high traffic urban zone. Positioned at the heart of city stress making it ideal for a healing intervention.
Concept Inspiration: Rooted in the sensation of weightlessness as a metaphor for emotional release. In a high-pressure city “gravity” symbolizes deadlines, congestion and routine. Create a space where people feel physically and mentally lighter.
Design Features:
Suspended Net Layer: Stretched between flyover columns with gentle dips and slopes to mimic floating.
Usage Diversity: Children climb and play, youth lounge, elders recline and observe.
Ground Level Zone : “The Breathing Zone” Shaded greenery, community seating pods, cycle parking.
Impact: Social: Revives dead space into a safe, active public hub.
Psychological: Reduces stress through sensory play and connection to nature.
