ONE STREET URBAN DETOX

REVIVING COMMUNITY BONDS THROUGH CLEAN,SHADED HEALING SPACE

The most challenging and blessing of designing space in Bangladesh is due to the absence of adequate amount of space or simply having “NO SPACE’’

Hence for the project,a shabby road beside Zeneva camp which is mostly used for garbage dumping and collection is used as the site.And there is unplanned cng parking throughout the roadside.There are several school and colleges which is near the road.Thus everyday a lot of student and children needs to pass through it besides other people.There are shops of Zeneva camp residing people and their home surrounding the road.People of Zeneva camp people is increasing day by day but the area is still the same since the post liberation war.Mostly the people of the camps indulge themselves in illegal works for earning money as they have no such opportunity to work.

AGAIN,the children there  has no breathing space,they also get engaged in illegal works

since childhood unfortunately.

The site has both houses of Zeneva camp and apartment buildings of regular people of Mohammadpur.

Project objective:

1. Solve the open garbage dumping problem creating degradation in the health of School going children and others and resolve the cng parking management by creating a Overpass escape for the passerby and moving the open dumping system to an enclosed underground dumping solution.

2. Creating a recreational space for the people,specially for the underprivileged children 0f Zeneva camp and other people.

3. Creating a place which can be used for multipurpose such as:Running workshops and classes of different skills by giving the rented space on a weekly basis.

4. The money earned from the rent can be used for the maintenance of the pavilion and the amount of money people will pay to learn the skill will help one who will train to sharpen their skills as well as to be an earning person.

5. A scope of interaction of people all classes and gender will be created.

6. Overall a place is created from NO SPACE which will help to heal a small part of the city and a large amount of people.
