Project Description

This building takes place in a small town called Kozármisleny, in Hungary. This location is special because habitats created an artificial lake which is the signature of the town.  The building that I proposed is located on the shore of this lake as a cultural center/cafe/bar/library/event hall/lake view terrace. Chosen site is part of the forest with an untouched terrain. My project uses the natural shapes of the relief to blend the building into the relief.

People of this town are in need of a community place which is gathering spot for all citizens and could be multi-functional for different purposes. This design successfully combines five functions in it. Here teenagers can hang out on the roof/pathway steps, visitors can enjoy the view to the lake from the rooftop terrace, students can use the library, some special days could use the event hall and the cafe could be a nice place to relax next to the lake and the moveable wall between event hall and the cafe could be used as a concert hall/bar in the evening. 

Organic and flowy shape serves a purpose of indicating a community. Materials compliment features of the surrounding nature in order to become a part of it.  I hope you enjoy the design as well as I did, I wish I could include more visuals and pictures of physical models I've built, but I can send them later if you are interested.
