Project Description
For our Healing Space concept, we chose an existing site – the Lower Section of Babu Bazar Bridge. The Lower Section of Babu Bazar Bridge used to be one of those forgotten corners of the city – once dark, unwelcoming and chaotic. Traffic was always messy, there was no proper management and whatever public activities took place felt scattered and ineffective. It was basically a “negative space” – somewhere people hurried through, not a place they wanted to stay.
Over time, a few smart design changes began to turn things around. A proper parking area helped reduce congestion and made movement easier. A children’s play zone gave families a reason to linger. Small refreshment spots appeared, allowing people to grab a snack or take a break. Even the fruit vendors, who once blocked the walkways, were given their own organized section – making the whole place feel tidier and more inviting. These changes didn’t just solve problems; they brought the space back to life. What used to be empty and dull is now active and engaging. People stop here to sit, talk, shop and relax. The layout feels more organized, the environment more pleasant and the whole place has a fresher, friendlier look.
Today, the Lower Section of Babu Bazar Bridge is not just a leftover space in the city. It is a lively spot where the community gathers, children play and daily life feels more connected and enjoyable.
