Project Description
Chupti, which means “quiet,” is a riverside healing space where the stillness of water meets the stillness within. Many unused edge of the river is now reimagined as a gentle ramp that flows alongside the water in Bangladesh. This pathway encourages people to slow down, wander, and breathe with the rhythm of the river.
Walking along Chupti feels like stepping into a softer pace of life. The path unfolds gradually, leading to moments of pause and discovery: swings swaying in the breeze, shaded corners for quiet reflection, pockets of greenery that bring life back to the riverbank, and wide ghat-like platforms where you can dip your feet, watch the ripples, or simply lose track of time.
Here, every detail contributes to the healing — the whisper of leaves overhead, the coolness of water against the skin, the earthy scent of native plants, and the endless movement of light on the river’s surface. Together, these moments create a space that soothes without words which encourage and connect the community and people to heal.
Open to all, Chupti is both public and personal. It is a place where strangers and friends can find comfort without walls or boundaries. It is more than just a walkway; it is a quiet journey, a gentle transformation where stillness becomes strength and silence becomes solace along with mother planet. As you linger here, the river doesn’t just pass by; it flows through you, carrying away the noise, leaving only calm inside our mind.
