Project Description

"নন্দ বাক্স' – In Bengali literature and folklore, it is an imaginary treasure chest where all of humanity’s dreams, fairytales, and joyful stories are preserved.

In our design, we wish to bring back the forgotten tales of joy and sorrow, the simple human connections that urban life has quietly taken away. In today’s rapidly urbanizing cities, the race to build taller and faster has left behind the small happiness of our childhood—the warmth of conversations between neighbors, the charm of tiny local gatherings. Life has become mechanical, and with it, mental and physical struggles have grown.

From the fear that technology might swallow all that is good and humane, we have envisioned “Modular boxes”—adaptable spaces that change with needs and context. At times, they become playgrounds for children; at others, cozy storytelling corners for the elderly, lively gathering spots for women, quiet study areas for students, or even safe shelters for stray cats and dogs.

These boxes are our way of unlocking the 'নন্দ বাক্স' once again—returning moments of togetherness to the heart of the city."
