Project Description
Kodala Tea Estate in Chattogram, a renowned and serene location, has been chosen as the site to explore the interconnection between community space and spirituality. Currently, visitors come here but lack opportunities to engage in experiences that positively influence their emotions. My design aims to create a partially detached space that encourages reflection, emotional release, and healing.
The journey begins with a superstructure of low height and a narrow entrance, symbolizing feelings of obsession and loneliness. The descending stair is also narrow, limiting the crowd and encouraging personal introspection. Upon reaching the central platform, visitors encounter light streaming from the top of the structure, signifying the presence of spirituality.
Here, the combination of mirrored reflections and the soothing sound of water beneath the platform invites calmness and contemplation. The space also allows for casual conversation, enabling visitors to refresh their minds.
The exit path contrasts the entrance experience. A wide staircase accommodates groups, encouraging collective departure with a sense of joy. This upward movement leads toward the higher side of the structure, symbolizing emotional elevation and healing. Beneath this pathway, flowing water serves as a reminder of life’s continuity and vitality.
Overall, the superstructure embodies the transition from the constraints of obsession to the liberation of healing, with spirituality as the guiding void between the two.It indicates the combination of form, space and context with time
