Project Description
It rained without pause that day, a steady drizzle turning the city into silver reflections. From my window, I set one rule: chase motion until the frame decides what matters. Hundreds of exposures later, two images rose like answers, rickshaws moving through drizzle, vivid against the grey.
These three-wheeled machines are the city's silent demand. One, a cycle rickshaw, advances with human cadence beneath a floral umbrella; the other, a motorized tuk‑tuk, cutting through wet light with mechanical urgency. Together they form a single truth: resilience is not dramatic; it is habitual. Rain falls, but wheels turn, and life continues.
I did not photograph hardship as spectacle. I photographed continuity, the steady labors that hold a city together. Motion blur evolved into a tool, converting persistence and speed into artistic streaks that prioritize motion over stillness. The pictures serve as a reminder that beauty in urban life frequently comes on three wheels, paying homage to those who keep the city moving. Gratitude finds its frame in blur and drizzle.
