Project Description
Every day, the rickshaw puller rolls an invisible dice. The city is his board, its streets, its moods, its traffic, and he navigates it with no fixed rules, only experience and endurance. This illustration re imagines that daily reality as a game of Ludo: the rickshaws are the pieces, the city blocks and open fields are the squares, the decorated board drawn from the very patterns painted on rickshaw hoods themselves.
The hands reaching in from the edges are passengers, people like us, moving through the city, going places, living our lives. We pick up the pieces. We set them in motion. But we rarely think about the person pedaling beneath us.
Elsewhere on the board, pullers rest under trees, share tea at a roadside stall, play Ludo with each other, the same game, but this time on their own terms. Life continues in every corner of the frame.
'Ludo' is about the parallel lives moving through the same city. We are all players. But we do not all hold the dice.
