Project Description
This is a glimpse into the life of an ordinary rickshaw puller named Ronglal, from Rongpur, Bangladesh. On a charming morning, he rises and heads out with his rickshaw to earn for a day's meals. After enjoying breakfast with DudhCha, Bon, and Biri, he energized himself and sets out to find colorful passengers. He picks up an elder brother holding his little sister's hand, taking her to kindergarten. Sometimes he faces a heavy workload, pulling by hand is his only option. In the afternoon, he takes rest and thinks about being the hero for a family of seven, including a paralyzed father, while also trying to recover land & wealth lost to river erosion. He knows he must bring joy to his family, just like the heroes in the Bangla cinemas he admires. Thus afternoon passes. He continues to fight even through rain or storm, a single polythene bag wrapped around his head as his shield. He perseveres until darkness falls at dusk. After his struggles, he finally has enough money for a meal and to send some back home, returning to his garage with the thought that a rickshaw puller must carry his family's colors on his rickshaw.
