Project Description
This intervention translates the cognitive brainwashing of Satyajit Ray’s Jantar Mantar into an architectural apparatus a brutalist, maze-like factory that acts as a crucible for the human spirit. Built from monolithic concrete, unyielding iron, and resonant corrugated metal sheets, the structure is designed to disorient, control, and emotionally fracture the occupant. It is an architectural spectacle of industrial tyranny.
The maze operates as an acoustic and spatial instrument of psychological submission. Footsteps on metallic floors trigger chaotic, disruptive echoes, mimicking the totalitarian soundtrack of control. Survival within this dystopian machine demands a choice: succumb to the individualistic, Darwinian geometry of the maze, or forge local, human connections to navigate its horrors. The transition from the chaotic, oppressive enclosure to the inner sanctuary is not merely a physical path, but a moral evolution. Those who retain their humanity and resist the machine's psychological conditioning break through the brutalist mass into a compressed, sensory tunnel of LIGHT emerging finally into the uncompromised Freedom of Light.
