Project Description
Geneva Camp, in Mohammadpur, is evolving into a dystopian colony shaped by human policy and symbolized through the rhythm of “Jantar Mantar.” In this proposal, Jantar Mantar represents a cognitive system of control that gradually influences thought and obedience.
A shelter begins as the most fundamental form of refuge: a raised platform for protection from uncertain danger, a roof that offers peace of mind, and walls that hold the hope of another day. These elements work in harmony to create a humane place to live.
As the rhythm of Jantar Mantar intensifies, this simple shelter is transformed. The platform becomes a two-sided roofed hut; the hut becomes a concrete building; and the building multiplies into an increasingly dense urban mass. Over time, the settlement evolves into a dystopian environment in which stateless refugees are compressed into a crowded concrete jungle.
